What does second-hand paradise look like? In Venice, the answer would be Libreria Acqua Alta. This well-known Venetian bookstore is hard to find but the effort is worth it.
Stocked with books from floor to the ceiling, in gondolas and in a bathtub (innovative way of saving the books during high tide), this quirky place, which has plenty of cats, is a must-see for bibliophiles.
Books might be strewn everywhere, but don't worry the owner really knows his books. If you are looking for something specific, just ask him.
Apart from books, you can also buy several other interesting souvenirs at the store.
