About Dead Sea

True to its name, the lifeless, calm and composed the Dead Sea is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east, Israel and the West Bank to the west. Nearly, 25 km of the coastline lies within Palestinian Authority Territory, including Qumran and Ein Feshka. The Dead Sea is located in the Jordan Rift valley and has the Jordan river as its main tributary. The surface and shores of the Dead Sea lies 430.5 meters below the sea-level and is considered Earth’s lowest elevation on land.
