About Fernsehturm

There is a television tower in central Berlin called “The Fernsehturm”. It was constructed by the government of the German Democratic Republic. The tower is visible from nearly every point of the city. It was built between 1965 and 1969. About 400 people can be present in the sphere at the same time. The elevators in the tower are extremely fast. Though the tower can sway, it is safe in bad weather also. This is a working TV tower, as it was intended.

How to reach

The entrance to the Tower is directly opposite the Gontardstraße exit of Alexanderplatz station. Bus: TXL, M48, 100, 200, 248, N5, N8 S-Bahn (suburban train): S5, S7, S75 U-Bahn (underground): U2, U5, U8 Tram: M4, M5, M6, M2 Regional train: RE1, RE2, RE7, RB14.

Tips

  • The time given on the ticket has to be adhered to. Minimum of 10 min grace is given.
  • If you are late, call on  +49 (0) 30 24 75 75 85 to modify the time on the ticket.
  • All guests have to deposit their coats free of charge in the cloakroom in the lower foyer.
  • People with disability may not be able to visit the tower.
  • Do not carry large items of luggage, rucksacks, bags, pushchairs, empty or filled containers with you up the tower.
  • Dogs are not allowed. 
  • Do no smoke in the Berlin tower.

*Last ascent at 11.30 p.m.
