Built in the 14th century the towers of Viru Gates still stand strong today and form only a part of the original structure. Located at the eastern section of the town hall in Tallinn, the Gates of the main tower were built in 1345-1355. Today, this structure is one of the entrances into the Old Town leading to numerous shops, busy crowd and restaurants in Viru Street. The nearby streets are bustling with shops and cafes where you can try local food and also shop some local goods. The Gates to the Old Town are very unique and iconic and essentially form the main entrance. This is a perfect place to enjoy, meet-up, spend time with family and friends. You could also shop at some souvenir shops, flower shops. The place is also littered with plenty of restaurants and lights up at night, giving you a taste of what is within the old town's walls!
