About The Clementinum and the National Library

The Clementinum and the National Library is a historical site of the Czech Republic. These beautiful Baroque buildings once constituted the Jesuit College. The library is the property of the state once the Jesuits were evicted. The Clementinum became the public library, progressing towards being a national library. The library hall is adorned with beautiful ceiling artwork, a 68m-tall astronomical tower, captivating mirror chapel with excellent decor, and the breathtaking views of Prague. The library has a collection of over 6 million books and visitors can enjoy a moment of tranquility, and a peaceful atmosphere.
