Charles Bridge is Prague's most ancient historical bridge with Baroque statues representing the veneration of a couple of saints prevalent at the time. A bow-shaped bridge with 16 arches, shielded by the ice guards, it conjoins the old town of the city as well as the adjacent areas with the Prague Castle. Famous for its antique statues with a plaque at the base of the statue that states details of the fulfillment of a wish. It is constructed with an exact alignment with the Tomb of St. Vitus and sunset at the Equinox. The bridge provides a spectacular panoramic view of the city beautifying it with its magnificent Gothic gates.
