The Rosario Islands is the most beautiful Caribbean beach destination you have ever imagined. Most of the tours focus on Isla Barú, which lies closest to the mainland and has many places to visit, like the fortresses of San Fernando and San Jose, Playa Blanca, Playa Azul and the the Bay of Cholón.There are also a variety of accommodation options if you wish to extend your stay. How to reach

The island is accessible only by boat.  Get to the dock at La Muelle la Bogegita in Cartagena and grab one of the speed boats leaving at 8:00am and 10:00am and returning at 2:30pm.

Tips

  • Be sure to take everything you need, as there are no shops on the islands.
  • Carry sunscreen, a swimsuit, and a sunhat as it can be very hot and sunny.
  • Bring enough cash if you want to purchase food or drinks from beach kiosks as many do not accept credit cards.
  • There are many resorts available on the islands. If you want to extend your stay, make your reservations in advance.
  • Some water activities may not be suitable for pregnant women and people with health issues.
  • Carry drinking water and food as there are not many stalls here.
