Have you ever taken a dip in a volcano? Most likely not, right! Here is your chance to experience the most incredible feeling of getting soaked up in soft volcanic mud.As the legend goes- El Totumo volcano once was an active volcano that spat out hot lava and ashes, but it is said that a local priest turned it into mud with holy water. It is considered to have healing properties, but most of the visitors come to El Totumo to experience the weightless and the lack of bodily control during the mud bath. It is said that the volcano is very very deep, but when you dip into the warm, thick mud you wouldn't be able to do anything but bob about at the top. You can even get a personal massage for a small fees from one of the attendants. Once done, you can get out and head into the next door lagoon for cleaning up- you will be helped by local Colombian women if you wish to. Make sure to carry towels and a fresh set of clothes.
It is more than 60 Km from the city center. So traveling by car is a good option. You can also sign up with a tour group to avail round-trip transfer.
