The 2.8-kilometre long Paulista Avenue is one of the busiest and longest stretches of road in Sao Paulo. It bridges the connection between the "old" city or the central part and the modern city. With historical architecture from the 19th century, coexisting with glass skyscrapers of the 21st, the place is a perfect blend between the old and modern faces of the city. The major attractions and places like movie theatres, schools, cultural centres, shopping malls, parks, etc. can be found along this road. The entire street takes part in a great Christmas celebration and it hosts one of the largest new year celebration party. Watching the performance of the street artists, shopping or relaxing at a bar table on the sidewalk watching the people can be a perfect fun time at Paulista Avenue.
If you travel by metro, Consolação, Trianon-Masp and Brigadeiro in green line and Station Paulista of the yellow line are nearest. Buses like 427/1 pass through this avenue. You can rent a car, but due to high traffic in the vicinity, getting parking is tough.
