About Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum holds the embalmed remains of Ho Chi Minh; this larger than life granite structure stands in Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, Vietnam. It is here that Ho  Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945. Ho served as the Chairman of the Vietnamese communist party from 1951 to 1969, the year he passed away. Ho Chi Minh was so beloved that the Vietnamese people considered him as a "father" or "uncle."The construction of the mausoleum took 2 years.
