Hanoi’s oldest market Dong Xuan mainly sells bulk food items, clothing, and accessories in its three stories of packed aisles. It is a one-stop market for the locals. The market originally dates back to 1889 although it had to be refurbished after a massive fire in 1994. Dong Xuan is huge and takes up an entire city block. Dong Xuan Market is a must-visit if you’re looking to experience the local life. There are shops selling traditional Dong Ho drawings, Bat Trang ceramics, Binh Da embroideries and laces, and sand paintings. One can also enjoy local delicacies with food vendors selling Vietnamese coffee and exotic local dishes for as low as VND 15,000. It is one of the most interesting and attractive places for tourists. This is the biggest wholesale market in Hanoi city.
It is 2.9 km away from the city center.
