Mu Ko Chang National Park is a marine park of 650 square kilometers (250 sq mi), made up of 52 archipelago islands. The largest, Ko Chang, from which it gets its name, covers almost half the entire area. The park because the 45th national park in Thailand in 1982 and is an IUCN Category II protected area.
Ko Chang is composed of forests, rivers, waterfalls, mountains, and rocky cliffs. Eight little villages are found on Ko Chang, the only real population on any of the islands. You could spend an entire vacation in Mu Ko Chang National Park. Hike on Khao Salak Phet, the highest mountain, go snorkeling to see the sharks and turtle, or stretch out on a blanket and catch some sun at Ko Wai, Kai Bae or Lonely Beach.

By ferry:
Take a minivan from Trat Bus Station to Ao Thammachat Pier. This covers a distance of 31.4 km in 26 minutes. The price is not fixed and will have to be negotiated. Then take the car ferry from Ao Thammachat Pier to Ko Chang. It is a journey of 5.6 km that is covered in 38 minutes and costs 100 THB. You shall have to take a taxi from Ko Chang to Mu Ko Chang National Park. In 32 minutes, it takes you 26.8 km and costs between 350 to 420 THB one-way.
