About Grand Palace

The Grand Palace is a collection of royal palaces with a blend of European and Thai architecture.  The magnificent structures are picturesque and should be captured by the visitors to cherish the memories of the visit. The external court near the entrance used to house Government buildings in which the King could directly involve in civic matters as well as the army and treasury. The temple of Emerald Buddha is confined to the corner of the outer court. The central court is for state business and only two throne halls are accessible by the public which will relentlessly let them fascinate pertaining to the magnificent details on the facade of these impressive structures.

The Emerald Temple of Buddha is carved into a single jade stone, a unique blend of European and Thai style. Many visitors choose to take photos of the temple, which is renowned by architects around the world.

How to reach

Visitors can ride a boat from Si Phraya express boat river. It is 4.9 km from city center Bangkok. It is 15-20 baht to reach the place and it takes 20  minutes to reach the place.

  • Stay hydrated as you may have to walk a bit
  • Dress code:  As it is a sacred place the visitors must be dressed appropriately fully covered.
  • Stay sensible as it is a sign of maturity
