Puente del Kursaal is the most glamourous bridge of San Sebastian and an important landmark of the city. It is the first of four bridges located across the River Urumea; Puente del Kursaal being the one facing the water just before the river meets the sea. Due to the continuous battering of the waves on its pillars, the bridge has been rebuilt many times in the past. Being close to Old Town and surrounded by the city's historic landmarks, Puente del Kursaal is a popular spot among visitors to enjoy the sights of the city and the bay. The ornate white and green pillar lamp-posts that line the bridge, reminds of huge chess pawns in the River Urumea. The bridge looks magnificent when it is all lit up after dark. Walk across the most popular bridge of the city, take photos and gaze in the river waters while you enjoy the stunning view.
It is almost 1 km from the city center and can be easily reached on foot. Walk via San Martzial Kalea and República Argentina Kalea because that is the shortest route. You can also take the bus - routes G1/G2/5/16/18/19/25/31/33 and get down at Okendo. The bridge is a two-minute walk from the bus stop.
