The "Comb of the Wind" is a popular destination of San Sebastian; a collection of three sculptures by Eduardo Chillida and the Basque architect Luis Peña Ganchegui. Completed in 1976, this is one of the most well-known works and a major landmark of the city. It is located at the end of Ondarreta Beach and can be seen from the promenade. The three monumental steel sculptures are embedded in natural rocks rising from the Cantabrian Sea. The Comb of the Wind is best viewed during high tides as the huge waves come crashing into the structures, it is a unique experience with lots of photo opportunities. There is a viewing area on the nearby coast that has wave-driven outlets for air and water. It is fun to watch as the water comes spraying out of the outlets.
It is 2.5 m from the city center and can be reached by bus - routes T3/T5 and 16. You can also take a taxi as it is easily reachable via Mirakontxa Pasealekua and takes a 9-minute drive.
