The neo-Gothic cathedral of Buen Pastor is the largest religious construction in San Sebastian, designed by Basque architect Manuel de Echave. It was made of sandstone from Monte Igueldo and has a tapering spire that is a landmark of the city; it is the tallest in the Basque country at 75 meters. The cathedral has three naves and the stained-glass windows allow light to spread through the church's interiors creating beautiful hues. Huge chandeliers hang down from the stunningly decorated roof and rose windows light up both ends of the transept. Step into the beautiful interiors of the Gothic church of St Vincente and travel back in time as you explore the unmatched architectural marvel.
It is only 250 meters from the city center and can be easily reached on foot.
