War Memorial of Korea exhibits war memorabilia, artworks, and military equipment of Korea’s history of war, notably with North Korea. It's fascinating to see actual tanks and airplanes from a close distance. Opened in 1994, it is located in Yongsan-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the previous site of the army headquarters. The museum comprises a combat experience room, 6 individual exhibition halls, an outdoor exhibition area, and one screening room. The Statue of Brothers at the museum is its best attraction. It symbolizes the Korean hope for reunification by depicting a scene where a family’s oldest son, a South Korean soldier and his younger brother, a North Korean soldier meet on a battlefield. Their embrace expresses reconciliation, love, and forgiveness. It is, often, seen as the "future" of united Korea. The extensive garden area around the memorial has an artificial waterfall and a lake where visitors can picnic whilst enjoy the beautiful landscape.
