Cheonggyecheon is a 10.9 km long, modern recreation area in downtown Seoul. Before its restoration in 2005, Cheonggyecheon Stream was a hidden waterway. Now, it is a haven of natural beauty amidst the bustle of city life. Its close proximity to Seoul's top historical sites like Deoksuguneglectedng Palace, Seoul Plaza, the Sejong Center, Insa-dong Street, Changdeokgung Palace, and Changgyeonggung Palace make it a popular tourist destination. You can enjoy a stroll along the stream. The Rhythmic Wall Stream, lined with fine marble and sculptures, and Palseokdam adorn Cheonggyecheon Stream. Narae Bridge and Gwanggyo Bridge, symbolize the harmony of the past and future. Then there is Cheonggye Plaza located at the starting point of Cheonggyecheon Stream. A model of Cheonggyecheon at the plaza provides visitors a bird's-eye view of the restored Cheonggyecheon Stream. There are plaques detailing commentaries on the 22 bridges that span the stream, as well as a number of graceful fountains adding to the ambiance of the area. In short, Cheonggyecheon is a symbol of harmony, peace, and unity.
