The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico is located just down the road from the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico in an eye-catching neoclassical Georgian house – the past Rafael M de Labra school. The museum displays artists from the mid-20th century onwards, mostly from the Caribbean, Latin America, and Puerto Rico. The perpetual collection is a research in the difficulties and strains faced by modern-day society and the resolutions offered by its creatives. It was founded in 1984 and a place to see the work of Puerto Rico's distinct modern day artists. The exhibits display the museum's array of modern island-made paintings, posters, sculptures, and prints. Established inside Sacred Heart University in the Barat building, the institution can be difficult to spot. As the exhibits switch frequently, be sure to reach the museum or visit their great website to find out about the most recent exhibits.
The museum is 1.9 km away from the city center.
