One of Auckland's top-rated and most creative attractions, the Howick Village is a journey into the life of early settlers. The village is a great attraction among tourists for its unique style in exhibiting ancient living patterns. The houses, schools, and church together give a detailed glimpse into the lives of the early settlers of New Zealand. It is an extravagant display into the conditions and occupations that were prevalent in old times. Throughout the village, there are various food stalls serving the cuisine from the settlers' time. Volunteers, dressed in beautiful old-style clothing and costumes, reveal the daily living of the early people, making it interesting and incredibly educational at the same time. The whole village itself is set in a beautiful picturesque location, adding to its charm.
Howick & Eastern Buses (No. 550 - 551) depart Britomart (Downtown Auckland) and the ride takes about 45 minutes plus a 5-minute walk from Pakuranga Road through Lloyd Elsmore Park. It is 17.8 km from the city center.
