About Auckland Museum

Opened in 1929, this is one of New Zealand’s most important museum and war memorial. This place is a must-visit to gain an insight into New Zealand’s natural, military and people history. The Maori culture, social history and our war story is sure to inspire everyone. Its unique collections of Maori and Pacific treasures tells the story of New Zealand as a nation. A taxi ride will take 2 minutes, A bus journey will take 6 minutes .

Better simply walk down fron the City Centre -- hardly 16 Minutes

Tips

  •  To book tickets you can also  book online 
  • There is a wonderful  cafe inside in case you feel hungry
  • Wheelchairs are there for the physically disabled to go inside the museum
  • The museum is open throughout the day except for Christmas Day 
  • Entrance fees and other fees will not be charged to any visitor on Anzac Day
  • Foods are not allowed -- Only bottled water is permissible 
  • One can have packed lunch brought in the specific lunch room
  • For security reasons bags of the visitors might be scanned and checked thoroughly
  • Larger size  bags are not allowed inside
  • Children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult or its parents
  • To watch any cultural show please come beforehand otherwise you may not be allowed
