A hub for all the sports lovers, Eden park is New Zealand’s largest sports stadium. Apart from holding rugby unions in winter and cricket in summer, the stadium has also played host to rugby league and football matches. It is the first stadium in the world to have held 2 Rugby World Cup Finals. Initially a cricket ground, the credit of turning it into a sports ground goes to Harry Ryan; a cricket enthusiast. The stadium was renovated in October 2010 to extend its capacity to 50,000. 2011 Rugby World Cup saw an addition of 10,000 temporary seats. The stadium also has excellent amenities like food and beverage outlets, restrooms and more.
