Located perfectly at the point where the Waitakere River meets the Tasman Sea, Te Henga or Bethells Beach is a beautiful coastal community which covers the northern portion of the north island. It was originally called Bethells Beach which was changed to Te Hanga, the Maori words for 'sand'. Bethells Beach is considered one of the best beaches for relaxing alone, time with nature, and clear waters. The beach promises adventurous activities and attractions for all age groups. From horse rides to fishing grounds, surfing, parasailing to zombie survival challenges, this beach has something to keep everyone occupied and entertained.
An hour and quarter drive by car from Auckland around 37 km drive. Bus or train drops at new Lynn and then a taxi till the beach. It is 44.7 km from the city center.
