• Most locals eat with their hands in restaurants, which means you should eat with your right hand.
• Respect the cultures, Do respect when Indonesian Muslims are praying. Muslims pray 5 times a day. Some services may be unavailable during that time.
• Take off your shoes when entering places like a house, or place of worship.
• Bring toilet paper if you go to the toilet. Indonesians use water and hand to clean.
• Avoid skimpy and short clothing, especially women.

Donts

• Do not force to drink, most Indonesians refrain from drinking. Also no drinking in public spaces.
• Don’t complaint/disturb when Indonesian are praying, especially when Muslims are praying in the Mosque. Religion is a sensitive topic in Indonesia.

Nightlife in Jakarta is very happening due to its modern metropolitan culture. • Pasar Baru: One of the oldest markets in Jakarta. You can get fashionable stuff, textiles, bags, even electronic equipment at low prices.
• Jakarta Cathedral Church: Otherwise known as Gereja Santa Maria Pelindung Diangkat Ke Surga (the Church of Our Lady of Assumption) is a more than 100-year-old Catholic Cathedral built in neo-classical style.
•  Istiqlal Mosque: Built in 1961, the Mosque was built as a sign of gratitude for God’s help in obtaining Indonesia’s independence, hence its name, Istuqlal, which means “Independence” in Arabic.
• Taman Safari: Though located slightly just outside Jakarta, a trip to Taman Safari is not to be missed due to its unique open-air concept to simulate African safari.
