How to reach

By Bus:

The Damri buses take one directly from Jakarta's Soekarno Hatta International Airport to Bogor for Rp 55,000.

Two types of buses: Executive( Airconditioned) and Economy. Buses also ply from Jakarta, Bandung, Sukabumi, Yogyakarta and, Malang. Buses from Lebak Bulus, Kampung Rambutan, and Kalideres bus terminals depart and take 1 to 2 hours to reach. Buses from Bogor to Bandung take 3 hours.

By train:

Bogor railway terminus is the southern terminal of both the red and yellow lines of Jakarta's rail network and runs via Depok to Bogor. The Red Line originates at Kota station in West Jakarta and the yellow starting at Jatinegara station in the East and both call at many stations at South Jakarta as well.

 In a few years, the new LRT will help one access Bogor and its surroundings much sooner.

By Car:

This is the easiest, hire a car and a driver or rent a car and is also relatively cheap.

With Tol Jagorawi, Bogor is 40 minutes to an hour from Jakarta except during traffic jams, It is approximately 48 km and the exit to Bogor is at 40 km.

By Car:

Can ride on the metered taxi to Bogor from Jakarta. The cost will be about Rp. 250,000 to 500,000 plus toll road fees of about Rp. 30,000. This will take 3 hours on old roads and 40 minutes to 1 hour on Tol Jagorawi, depending on the traffic. Caution needs to be exercised during the rains as this area is prone to flash floods. Best to make use of bigger companies like Blue Bird Group.

 

Tips

  • A great place for a weekend getaway with its beautiful flora, fauna, cooling, refreshing mountains, and diverse wildlife, a must-see for the naturalists, the and restless, and, the adventurous.
  •  Best time to visit is during the dry season, if here during the rains( October to February) then try to arrange the outings for the early part of the day.
  •  Bring a  raincoat or an umbrella as this is nicknamed the city of rain, not without reason.
  •  This is an eco-friendly space filled with conservation programs, research programs, and educational initiatives. So would seem a great place to visit for the naturalists.
  •  Restaurants and cafes are on the campus. 
  • Visitors can now explore using the dedicated mobile app called Jelujah Kebun Raya Bogor which features navigation, alist of what to see as also historical facts, and information. Also find information on restaurants, restrooms, and praying rooms. 
  • Work is on to make the app more user-friendly with the introduction of barcodes.
