The Musee National Marg Chagall, dedicated to the paintings and work of Russian-born French artist Marc Chagall was created by the architect André Hermant. The beauty of this unique monument is that its spread out across one level. So is the the Chagall's Universe of Light- Musée Chagall- also created by Hermant.
All works are placed on a veritable pedestal. Its archtitect and the very exclusive and impressive biblical work of Chagall are the main atractions. The very first room form three polygons. There are 12 large paintings, illustrating the first two books of the Old Testament: "Genesis" and "Exodus". Another hexagon shaped room has five compositions on the theme of the Chant of Solomon, another book of the Old Testament. You can discover the life of the painter through a film in the auditorium. You can see the paintings, mosaics, windows, and paper drawings in the main room. The museum is full of culture and natural beauty. Visitors are delighted to walk around its grounds and its splendid olive tree park, dominating the fascinating city of Nice.
