The St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, Nice is an Eastern Orthodox cathedral and recognized as a national monument of France. Currently, it belongs to the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate. It is the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe.
This cathedral, a World Heritage Site is the largest edifice of this type outside Russia. The Cathedral has been built on the Muscovite style. it has a very richly decorated interior with many icons, murals, carved woodwork, and iconostasis of embossed metal which is remarkable for its architectural details. As the site is a place of worship, certain rules have to be followed and entrance to the cathedral can be refused if these rules are not respected.
