About Sibelius Park

Tranquil and Artistic, the Sibelius Park and Monument were built in the honor of Finnish Composer, Jean Sibelius. It also functions as a memorial to the composer and is one of the most sought after attractions in Helsinki. The musical sculpture made with 600 steel tubes acts as a testament to the composer's talent and also doubles as a musical instrument when the weather is windy. The Sculpture, i.e., the monument designed by the Finnish artist Eila Hiltunen, is also popularly known as Passio Musicae. The monument was officially unveiled to the public on the 7th of September. The monument is so popular that its smaller version has been installed in the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
