A history buff's paradise, Finnish National Museum displays the history of Finland from medieval times to the 19th century. The artifacts of the museum narrate the life of Finnish people in 1,000 years. Visitors can look forward to many interactive exhibitions. Completed in 1910, the museum is one of the best places for people wanting to know more about Finland. Apart from the temporary exhibits, the museum also hosts permanent displays that are divided into six parts. The Prehistory of Finland part has the largest collection of archeological artifacts on display. Apart from this, the Treasure Trove has coins, medals and similar artifacts on display. The very entrance of the building is breathtaking and boasts of ceiling frescos having the national epic of Kalevala painted in the year 1928 by Akseli Gallen-Kallela. If one looks closely, one can find an uncanny resemblance between the structure of the museum and various medieval castles and churches of Finland.
