About Finlandia Hall

Located in the center of the city, the Finlandia Hall is a multipurpose venue. From concerts and events, one can witness all artistic events taking place at this venue. You can even enjoy some coffee and snacks at Cafe Veranda located within the premises. The Finlandia Hall also happens to be the venue for the congress. Designed by the architect, Alvar Aalto, the construction of the building was completed in the year 1971. Each and every detail that a visitor notices in the building were designed by the architect himself. The building, in itself, is a brilliant tourist attraction as it is able to captivate the attention of a lot of people from around the world. The building is extremely popular for one of its main features, i.e., tower with a sloping roof. This tower and the roof were specifically designed by the architect to give better acoustics to the building. The architect was extremely keen on bringing the richness of the Mediterranean culture to Finland which is why he decided to use marble to decorate the beautiful indoors as well as the outdoors.
