Located about 1 km east of Montazah, Mamoura beach is one popular destination of beach lovers. It is said to be the ‘beachiest’ of Alexandria’s beaches. Although it is not an ideal beach to swim or surf, you can enjoy a long stroll here. There is a nice cobblestone boardwalk with many shops and food stalls. It is separated from the main road, unlike other beaches. So, it feels calmer and there is no sound of any noisy traffic behind you. The weather is not always good. The waves can get rough when the sea is agitated. Get into the water only if you are sure it is safe. There are many activities to do around the beach. They operate during good weather conditions. Taking a taxi to the beach is the best way to get there. You can also flag down an Aboukir-bound microbus and let the driver know you want to get off at Mamoura. The beach is a good spot for a peaceful evening with the family. The sunset is beautiful and is a perfect backdrop for photos.
It is 22.3 km from the city center. The best way is to reach by taxi. It will cost you EG£ 25 to EG£30. You can also flag down an Aboukir-bound microbus along the Corniche and let the driver know you want to go to Mamoura.
