About Mount Monserrate

Rising to a height of 3,152 meters above the sea-level, Mount Monserrate dominates the city of Bogota and is considered a common destination for tourists and pilgrims alike. There is a church built atop the hill way back in the 17th Century with a shrine devoted to ‘The Fallen Lord’ or El Senor Caido. The area was once inhabited by the indigenous Muisca and is considered one of the sought-after tourist spots today. One can enjoy the panoramic view of the city of Bogota and the vibrant colors of sunset right from Mount Monserrate. Mount Monserrate must top the list of your Colombian itinerary.
