Victory Square is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Minsk, and it takes an important place among the valued spots in the city. Located at the intersection of Independence Avenue and the streets Zakharova has installed a granite obelisk which is 38 meters high, with an image of the Order of Victory on top. The monument has an eternal flame beneath it, which has been burning since 1954. Victory Square symbolizes a memorable event, the day the Soviet people won the Great Patriotic War from 1941-1945. Victory Square is a place of respect for people who suffered and lost their lives during the war days.
Victory Square is easily accessible on foot from the city center.
