Do’s:

  • Always use credit cards or pay in Belarusian ruble only, as Dollars or Russian Rubles or any other currency is not accepted here.

Don’ts:

  • Do not drink alcohol in public as it is considered offensive and is against the rules. Drinking is allowed only at special, open squares near cafes.
  • Taking photography, especially at train stations or civil buildings is strictly prohibited. You could even get arrested!
  • The city is spotlessly clean so make sure you put your garbage away carefully.
  • Do not use the word "Bomb" at metro stations or the airport. Belarus jail is the last place you want to see.
  • Parking along sidewalks is not allowed as per the rules.
