About Monument to Fallen Jewish People on March 2, 1942

This memorial monument was erected during the year 2000. It is dedicated to the Jewish population that was tragically killed during World War 2. It is a reminder of the fateful day in 1942 when the Nazis killed almost the entire Jewish population of Minsk – around 5000 Jews. The monument depicts a row of people, including women and children, descending into the pit in order to be shot. It is quite a powerful picture to see.
