The Holy Spirit Cathedral is dedicated to the Holy Spirit and is the central cathedral of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. It is one of the most instantly recognizable symbols of Minsk with its magnificent twin towers standing proudly at the heart of the city. The cathedral dates back to 1633 when the Bernardine monastery was built. But the building was damaged in a massive fire during 1741 and was reconstructed to its full glory.
