Port El Kantaoui is a popular tourist complex, 10 kilometres north of Sousse. It was built in 1979 as a tourist centre around a large artificial harbour, with 340 berths for luxury yachts, and hosts sporting activities from water skiing to paragliding. There are several golf courses and a 36-hole PGA-approved championship course making Port El Kantaoui a popular destination for golfing. Its dazzling architecture has been modeled on traditional building design in Tunisia, with narrow streets and arches. The line of hotels from Sousse along miles of the sparkling clean sea leads up to the harbour of Port El Kantaoui. In 2015, 39 people were killed when in a terrorist attack two hotels. This was the worst attack in the recent history of Tunisia since the Tunisian Revolution.
By Metro: A Metro train operates hourly between Sousse Metro Station (near the Port) and Monastir.
Noddy Train: It takes you from Sousse to Kantoui port and port to Sousse. You can see a lot on your way and can stop anywhere along the way. The train drops and picks up passengers along the way.
By Bus: There is a direct bus departing from Sousse and arriving at Kantaoui - Hotel Riviera. Services depart every two hours and operate every day. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes.
