Located in Kanchanaburi, Wat Tham Khao Pun is amazing caves that have been dedicated to old temples. The temples are crafted in natural limestone caves, which make it a remarkable experience for visitors. It features nine rooms, each having unique, beautiful statues. Some of these statues have existed here since the 19th century. The caves of Kanchanaburi are well-lit caverns that have both Buddha and Hindu idols. Caves have some of the marvelous Buddha statues of different style and size. One of its caves displays a collection of Ganesha images that are displayed among the clutter of Hindu deities. Claustrophobic passages of these caves let you discover hidden shrines buried inside the mountains, which makes it a lifetime experience.
The caves have narrow lanes which are lit with fluorescent light that helps create some eerie scenes. These thin lanes houses formations of stalagmites and stalactite rocks. When you are at these caves, you can know how some of the caves were named. Some of the caves are unique that resemble the shape of crocodile or roots of figs etc. This cave is undoubtedly rich with religion and tradition, but other than this, and it is also an essential place from history. It was a storage space used by soldiers of the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II and features some of the unique natural architectures.
