Four mammoth buildings of marble crafted beautifully with sculptures and intricate Spanish designs and a fountain make up the Plaza de Cibeles. The Plaza de Cibeles is a traditional landmark square of the city of Madrid. The Bank of Spain, Palace Cibeles, Linares Palace, and Buenavista Palace surround the fountain of the goddess Cybele, an iconic structure with the fertility goddess pulling a chariot run by two lions.
Cybele Palace also called the place of communication as it has been the setting for a postal and telegraph museum. The Buenavista Palace in the square hosts the headquarters of the Spanish Army. The Linares Palace has a functioning Latin American culture center inside the palatial building. This busy intersection has become one of the most popular landmarks in Madrid and has over time symbolized what tourists should expect with respect to the architecture in Madrid. A must-go-to place for tourists, to experience the grandeur of Spain.
