Mini Town is one of Durban's most visited and popular tourist attractions. It was first made over 30 years ago. Mini Town has a perfect replica of some of Durban's landmarks in a 1:24 scale. A walk around mini town will give you chance to explore and view excellent models of some of Durban’s most interesting buildings. One of the most popular features of the layout is a rail network with trains continually on the go. There is also an airport replica with airplanes moving on runway. Children can have a fantastic time watching all the planes and railways move around them. The harbor scene looks exactly like the actual one and features a tug and ship traveling around the harbor. There is a railway bridge across the harbor and trains need to stop every now and then while the bridge is lifted to let a ship through. The little town has a small refreshment counter where cold drinks and snacks can be bought. The venue is also open for children birthday parties. Mini Town is a nice place to take young members of the family for an outing. Weekends is the best time to visit mini Town.
The whole attraction is a mini replica of the city. The beautifully designed city replica is a must visit for children and adults!
Mini Town is located near Fitzsimmons Snake Park on Snell Parade. Take Old Fort Road heading from the city center to the beachfront. Turn left into Brickhill Road. Continue until you reach Somtseu Road where you turn right. Mini Town is nearby when you reach Snell Parade.
