About Camera Obscura

Camera Obscura takes you on a magical tour to the streets of Edinburgh. Test your brain against mind-bending illusions, it's all a part of the Camera Obscura and World of Illusions experience. 

It has about five floors and over 100 interactive, hands-on exhibits which will definitely make you either laugh out loud, say "Wow!" or both at the same time. The mirror maze might just make you crazy and the vortex tunnel is tons of fun for people of all ages. Explore the world of Alice in Wonderland in holograms, view the powerful view cams, false perspectives, and optical illusions. Don't forget to get a rooftop view of Edinburgh.

Tips

  • Tickets are valid for the entire day so it makes it easier for you to leave to get lunch or a coffee and return after. 
  • You are allowed to bring in your phone or camera to capture all the wacky, perspective-warping images.
  • Camera Obscura and World of Illusions is not wheelchair accessible.
