About Arcul De Triumf

The Arch of Triumph is a triumphal arch that stands testimony to the heroes of World War 1 and the War of Independence. It was unveiled in September 1936 and is located on Kiseleff Road, reaching up to 27 meters in height. Presently, military parades are held beneath the arch each December 1. This is the third arch in its place. First, a wooden one was built so that the victorious troops could pass beneath in 1878, then the second was built on the same site after World War 1, which was demolished in 1935 to construct the present structure, which came up in 1936. On certain occasions, one can get to the top of the arch. Inside it, there is an internal set of stairs as well as a small museum documenting the arch's rich history. Nearby attractions include Herastrau Park, Muzeul Sportului, Slow Tours, Casin Church, Ceausescu Mansion, and Tineretului Park.
