The AFI Cotroceni Mall was opened to the public in 2009. It is managed by AFI Europe. Located in the central western part of the city with a total floor area of 76,000 square meters it is the biggest mall and the most popular mall. It has become the main entertainment and leisure hangout in Bucharest as it has 300 stores with a great variety of food and shopping options. A good place to unwind and relax and enjoy a movie with family and friends. Other astounding features are that it has an indoor skating rink, indoor roller coaster, laser tag arena, and a fitness club. Last but not definitely the least, it has a vast extensive food court for the forever burgeoning crowd of the excited and the shopping-weary. It was awarded the "Best Shopping Centre Development" and also the "Best Overall Development" in 2009 as well as the "Best Shopping Mall" and " Best Real Estate Project" in 2010.
Located 3 km. from the City Centre, the mall is located in one of Romania's most affluent and up-coming residential districts. it is near the Romanian Parliament, Presidential Palace and the Bucharest Polytechnic, this is hard to miss.
