King Michael 1 Park, formerly known as Herastrau Park spans across a huge area of 187 hectares, it is around Lake Herastrau. The Adventure Park was inaugurated in 1936, the largest of all the public parks in Bucharest. Elisabeta Palace, the current residence of the Romanian Royal family, is located in the park The Arcul de Triumf another landmark, lies in the vicinity. The Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum, showcasing traditional peasant life and hundreds of houses from across Romania, is also one of the many attractions. The yacht club, Sports club, Open-air theatre, Herastrau Hotel and the Diplomatic Club with a golf course in tow are a few of the main highlights of the attraction. The park is fun-illed with exciting games and a theme park with good infrastructure and machinery. The park is ideal for jogging, long and short walks and running. It has 6 km. of pathway beside the river and is full of nice trees and places. Good dining places and a river cruise make it an absolutely enticing package for a day-out.
