The magnificent Spanish architecture and the mural coverage on the walls and ceilings make this visit a pleasing experience. The cathedral has withstood the ravages of time, natural disasters and war. It was constructed in 1571. The interiors of the church are splendid with exquisite chandeliers. The seats situated at the choir are carved out of molave and ivory. The church is beautified with splendid paintings by Italian artists, the mouldings and the rosettes exhibiting 3- dimensional carvings, with pineapple as a motif. The environment is medieval with the church and monastery depicting the charm and honour of the Spanish golden era.
