About Oude Kerk

The Oude Kerk is the oldest church that was consecrated in 1306. In 1578, after its reformation, it became a Calvinist church and remains till now. The area of the church is around 36,000 sq. ft. The roof of the Oude Kerk is the largest medieval wooden Arch in Europe, boasting some of the best acoustics in Europe. Approximately 150,000 people visit each year.

The collection consists of about 2600 objects and about 100 paintings and prints The Steward's Chamber, the Librije, the Iron Chapel, the Mirror Room, the Library, Collegie Room, the Holy Sepulcher and Iron Chapel Monstrance from the Nicolaikirche in Kalkar Wooden roof The four pipe organs, The square surrounding the church features a bronze relief of a hand caressing a breast that was set in the cobblestone at night by an anonymous artist in March 2007 The square also features Bronze statue Belle and prostitutes' windows
