  • Inner city bus fare is a little less than $1
  • Yellow taxis go downtown (fares around £15)
  • The Lebanese Commuting Company (lccworld.com) runs bus networks alongside government-owned OCFTC buses. Both have a ‘hail-and-ride’ system (fares around 50p). Shared service taxis (servees in Arabic) run fixed routes (fares £1 max in central Beirut)

Tips

  • Take the time to negotiate a boat ride and see the rocks up-close from sea level. You will be in for a breathtaking experience.
  • The view is amazing no matter the time of the day that you are there! 
  • Pick a seat at the corner and make sure that you are there during sunset.
  • The view is so perfect with the magical Pigeon Rocks.
  • Beware there will be many people trying to sell you things and take you on boat cruises etc. If you are interested then you should bargain the price.
