About Harpa

Reflecting the geography of its surroundings – the sky, the harbor and the city of Reykjavik – Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Center opened in May 2011 and is home to the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Icelandic Opera. Harpa has a glass facade made up of geometric shapes that change color with the light of the day. Harpa was designed by Olafur Eliasson, Henning Larsen Architects, and Batteri Architects, who won the Mies van der Rohe Award in 2013 for architecture. It won the prestigious MICE Report award for the best conference center in Northern Europe too. Visit this place for a unique cultural evening of classic Icelandic experience. Harpa boasts four halls, 1,800-seat auditorium, ample meeting space, catering services, and boutiques. It also houses the Kolabrautin restaurant for fine dining and a ground floor bistro.
