On your next trip to the bay of Faliro in Athens, you don’t want to miss out on visiting the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. Set aside an entire day if you want to explore the mammoth complex and do justice to all that it has to offer.
This huge complex comprises the National Library of Greece, the Greek National Opera, and the Stavros Niarchos Park among others. Beautifully designed by the renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano, this cultural center is a famous tourist attraction. In 2012, the construction started on this €566 million project and was given to the Greek state in 2017. This humongous public space has been created with the vision of being open and freely available to everyone. It is a wonderful space to witness and participate in a series of events and activities of education, cultural, recreational, athletic or environmental.
If amazing spectators during the day weren’t enough, the view of this center at night is equally mesmerizing. Be sure to check the center’s website for upcoming events and activities to ensure that you can participate in them promptly.
