One of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal was known to have been built by Shah Jahan in memory of his deceased wife, Mumtaz. Akin to this, another popular historic structure was said to have been built by a doting husband for his wife. In 161 AD the affluent Herodes Atticus built the Odeon of Herodes Atticus amphitheater for his wife, Regilla. This amazing stone theatre is a huge, open-air structure.
During its initial years, the Odeons were used to host musical contests. Whereas as years went by, the ancient amphitheater has even witnessed performances by stalwarts including Frank Sinatra and Luciano Pavarotti.
One can’t help but feel the vibe and energy of the venue. If you get the chance to go to a musical concert held here, then you should grasp it with both hands. It is an opportunity of a lifetime.
